A tribute

My Mee-Mee

Thursday evening,October 21st at 9:12 pm the greatest woman I have ever know left this earth to be with our heavenly Father. She was an amazing example of what a Godly woman should be. She always carried herself with grace and dignity proclaiming his name to all she made contact with. She always tried to have a smile on her face and kind words on her lips even if she was having a very rough day. She taught me how to wash dishes and tried to teach me how to sew. She made the best Strawberry Fig Preserves on the planet and even made Poppyseed chicken for everone even though she couldn't eat it. (She was allergic to chicken) She hand stitched aprons for all of her daughters, granddaughters and great granddaughters when she was 89 years old. She made an excellent chocolate cake that noone could ever reproduce and she was loved by all! I played with my brothers and cousins in her yard, attic and everywhere else and loved running through her beautiful flowers. Her husband was one also the greatest man I've ever had the privelege of knowing. He could make anything out of wood and it was always beautiful he took care of all of us and always tried to teach others about our Lord and Savior. He left this earth 8 years ago this past July 1st. I was unable to be there when he was in the hospital or at his funeral. I was two weeks away from delivering Caleb in Peoria, IL. I am so incredibly thankful that Levi and I were able to come down yesterday to be with her. He loved her so much and talked about her all day long. Last night when we go the call at 7:00 that she was in Afib and they couldn't get an oxygen reading on her we immediately dropped our dinner in the trash and raced out to the van towards the hospital. The entire way there Levi was repeating over and over again, "Mee-Mee doesn't feel good" when we got there I had to hold him standing at the door to her room so that he could keep his eyes on her. He didn't want to let her out of his sight. I am so incredibly thankful we were able to see her, hold her hand and tell her we loved her. Even when she passed she did it with dignity. I have an amazing family and I am forever grateful for the years I've had with her. For the time that Derek has had to know her. He loves her as much as I do. And for my children who were able to know and love her as well. Please pray for our family we are all suffering from our loss but so incredibly happy for her gain. May we all live lives like she did, emmulating our Savior Jesus Christ and proclaiming his word. If we do this we will all be in Heaven together one day.
